Fantastic prices, quality frames and the thinnest lenses, so where’s the catch? Well there isn’t one!
What’s the process? It couldn’t be simpler:
How long will it take to get my glasses? As soon as you place your order it will be processed on that same day. Following exactly the same process as your high street optician, your lenses will be manufactured to your prescription and will be checked, cut and assembled in your chosen frame by one of our registered opticians. For the vast majority of orders we will deliver your glasses within 10 working days. However on rare occasions for some more complex prescriptions and coatings, this may take a little longer. How do I get my prescription? It couldn’t be simpler, book an eye test at your local Optician, who is required by law to provide you with a copy of your prescription. Remember you are under no obligation to purchase your new glasses from them. Alternatively you can use your existing prescription providing it is less than two years old. Simply enter these details when placing your order with us and let us take care of everything else. What are high-index lenses? High-index lenses can change the way you look. If you have a strong prescription you no longer have to be embarrassed about your glasses! Using less material than conventional lenses high index are both substantially thinner and lighter. Essentially, the higher the index, the thinner the edges. For example a lens made from a 1.9 high index material will typically have an edge that is 80% thinner than a standard lens. Traditionally, you may have found that top of the range High Index lenses come at a hefty premium. But not with us! Can I choose from plastic or glass lenses? Absolutely. Unlike many other online vendors we provide you with the choice of both plastic lenses and glass lenses. Will I be losing out if I don’t buy from the High Street? We offer many of the same frames that your high street optician does. We use the same frame manufacturers, lens manufacturers and glazing labs. The only difference is the price we sell them at! Our lenses are produced by state of the art equipment, and are assembled and checked by registered opticians. They undergo the same process as if you ordered them directly from your high street optician. But beware, many High Street opticians may try to persuade you not to buy your glasses online as they know that once you have brought a pair from us you will never go back to paying their over inflated prices again. How do I pay? We accept payment from most major UK credit and debit cards, including, Visa, Mastercard, Maestro and Solo. How secure are my personal and financial details? We understand that some people are worried about using their credit cards on the internet. At Thinlenses.co.uk, we use one the most advanced online payment solutions available today, Nochex. Thinlenses.co.uk does not record customer payment information. All this information is held in a secure server that is managed by Nochex, using128 bit SSL, the highest level of encryption commercially available. All transactions are guaranteed to be 100% safe and secure. Do you offer a guarantee? All our frames and lenses come with a 12 month guarantee. This does not cover damage, wear and tear or misuse. If the glasses are faulty, we will happily replace or refund the product. And if the frames are no longer available we will instead substitute with a frame of equal or greater value, but only after consulting with you first. How do I choose the right frame for me? Choosing the right frame for you is essential. To make sure that you get it right have a look at our Choosing the Right Frame guide, which can be found on the homepage. Can my new glasses be adjusted? All our glasses are thoroughly inspected, aligned and professionally verified to your prescription prior to delivery. In some cases your glasses may need a minor adjustment after you receive them, which most high street opticians will happily carry out free of charge or for a nominal fee.
